GreenSquare signs long-term AI infrastructure customer at SYD1
GreenSquare today announced that it has signed a long-term customer contract for the first stage of its SYD1 data centre campus in Western Sydney, with NASDAQ listed NVIDIA Cloud Partner, Sharon AI. This agreement marks an important commercial milestone for GreenSquare and anchors the first tranche of AI-ready capacity at SYD1.
Sharon AI is expected to use the capacity to deploy approximately 8,200 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs, in what is expected to be one of Australia’s most significant announced NVIDIA HGX B300 deployments. Initial operations are targeted for Q4 2026.
Sharon AI is a leading Australian AI neocloud expanding access to trusted sovereign AI infrastructure. By co-locating its AI Factory platform within leading data centre facilities, Sharon AI enables organisations to confidently build, train and deploy AI at scale. Its partnership with GreenSquare demonstrates how specialist AI infrastructure providers and data centre platforms can work together to bring high-density AI capacity online rapidly, efficiently and at scale.
A defining feature of SYD1 Stage 1 is the adaptive reuse of an existing data centre building. This approach has not only accelerated the time to delivery, but also significantly reduced embodied carbon relative to traditional greenfield construction. All while still supporting the high-density power and low water utilisation requirements of next-generation AI workloads to accommodate evolving customer requirements over time.
GreenSquare CEO, Charles Penny, commented, “Securing this customer commitment is an important milestone for GreenSquare. It validates our platform and the demand for AI-ready infrastructure that can be delivered with speed, density and operational discipline. Our focus now is on execution – bringing next-generation capacity online safely, reliably and on schedule.”
This customer agreement positions GreenSquare within a rapidly evolving AI infrastructure ecosystem and demonstrates the growing demand for high-density AI infrastructure in Australia. GreenSquare is also developing a portfolio of more than 1GW across Victoria and New South Wales.
Australia is emerging as a strategic market for large-scale AI deployment, supported by access to land, power, and proximity to Asia-Pacific demand centres. With its first customer commitment in place at SYD1 and backing from programs managed by Partners Group, GreenSquare is focused on delivering the next phase of AI and digital infrastructure in Australia.
